Scope

The Businesswoman of the Year Awards (BYAs) sought out help to redesign their website for a streamlined application process for their upcoming award season.

For each application of an award, a nominator and nominee must fill out a form. In the past, BYAs was receiving nominee PDF applications via email which meant a lot of time organizing files and not enough time for review.

In addition to updating the look and feel of the site, BYAs requested functionality of the site to send in completed applications easily.

Process

Rather than a dark, sophisticated colour palette, the website was redesigned with a bright, welcoming feel that conveys a sense of celebration. I designed the approved concept that used white space, clean use of grids and a controlled colour palette of white, black with a few shades of pink.

Result

The website is still being used today as users are now able to nominate others and complete nominee applications on the website through an online form instead of submitting a PDF via email. The content of completed applications can be exported from the site and designed into a layout for an easier application review process.
